B2S Life Sciences Courtyard

Mader Design worked closely with B2S Life Sciences for the design of the biotechnology company’s green space and courtyard. Located in downtown Franklin, IN, the green space ties together the building’s historic exterior and renovated modern interior with a detailed hardscape and landscape design. B2S Life Sciences envisioned an outdoor space that matched the red brick-industrial character of their workspace, screened outdoor utilities such as the generator and trash, and provided shaded space for meetings and lunch breaks. The finished design hides utilities from view and extends the architectural character to the outdoors with ornamental fencing, durable patio furniture, shade structures, and reclaimed brick paving details. Colorful planting beds beautify the green space for downtown passersby and employees alike.
