HC Farms and Bray Park Master Plans
Mader Design was engaged by Hamilton County Parks to provide concurrent master planning services for Bray Family Homestead Park and HC Farms Park. The two undeveloped parks are less than 1 mile apart; by developing plans concurrently, site features and amenities were deliberately selected in order to create complementary parks with unique user experiences for each.
HC Farms will offer a passive, naturalized space with trails through woodland ravines and native wetlands. Designs for Bray Family Homestead Park offer active uses such as an all-ages, fitness-focused playground, 18 holes of disc golf, a pump track for mountain biking, and increased community garden space. Agritourism programming, such as enhancing the existing maple syrup program and creating natural food production opportunities, is also proposed. A connector trail between the two park experiences is a potential future development.
Following the completion of the two master plans, Mader Design developed detailed plans for parking and various site improvements around the former homestead area at HC Farms Park. After construction completion in 2026, this first phase of park development will include an entry plaza, parking lot, picnic shelters, trail connections, spaces for nature play and an amphitheater, storm drainage including stormwater quality treatment and detention, and landscaping with native species throughout.
