MacGregor Park, Washington Township

Jeff Mader has worked with Washington Township Parks, starting with MacGregor Park, since 2006. The first planning and design effort for the park developed 1.8 miles of trails, picnic area, a pervious parking lot, restroom facility, rain garden and formal walks, for the 40 acre doughnut shaped property utilizing numerous sustainable design features.

The Department then hired Mader Design to complete their 5 Year Master Plan, conduct preliminary planning on acquired property adjacent to the park, advise on grant funding opportunities, consult on property acquisition of the interior land, and master plan and design the next phase of implementation. The Second Phase, MacGregor Park West, added new trails, parking, picnic shelters, open play space, opening in 2013.

After the Department acquired the interior parcels of property, completing the 95 acre park, Mader Design completed design for a third phase of development that included 1.3 miles of trails, boardwalks, and habitat restoration which was completed in 2014.

In all, the park includes over 3 miles of trails. approximately 90 acres of habitat restoration and existing nature preserve, and sustainable park improvements throughout.
