Westfield Parks & Recreation Master Plans

Mader Design partnered with the City of Westfield Parks & Recreation Department for master planning services, completing 5-year master plans in 2017, 2022, and 2025. In efforts to keep pace with Westfield's rapid development in recent years, the Parks and Recreation Department has grown significantly, and needed forward-thinking plans focused on strategic development and growth.

Working closely with the Westfield Parks and Recreation Department for each plan, Mader Design assessed the parks department's current status and identified needs and opportunities for future development. This analysis involved running public input meetings and surveys, organizing stakeholder meetings, reviewing parks and land owned by the department, and creating a 5-year budget. The end results were broad scale master plans for the parks within the purview of Westfield, with considerations for future growth of the City and Department.

Westfield's 2025 master plan was developed in response to the Parks Department's growth from a subset of the Department of Public Works to a standalone department. This change required an early update to the 2022 Master Plan, including a new budget, analyzing the relationship between the newly established Parks Department and Board, and submission of the master plan to Indiana DNR to meet state requirements.
