Greenwood Sports Park

The City of Greenwood partnered with Mader Design for master planning, design, and construction of Greenwood Sports Park, located at the Interstate 65/Worthsville Road interchange. Mader Design led the design process, assisted in coordinating a funding plan for implementation, developed construction documents, and saw the project through construction in 2024.
Greenwood Sports Park enables Greenwood Parks & Recreation to host tournaments for traveling leagues while also serving the needs of local adult and youth leagues. The central area of the park features two quads of baseball/softball fields (225’ and 300’ fields). Artificial turf infields and natural grass outfields maximize playability while managing budget expectations. Each quad includes a pressbox, concessions building, restrooms, batting cages, shaded seating, and warm-up areas.
The north end of the site serves as a public park. Here, visitors enjoy a large splash pad and playground, picnic shelters, public restrooms, and a multi-use sports field including a cricket pitch. A naturalized area with trails connects the park to adjacent neighborhoods and schools.
Greenwood Sports Park provides much-needed park amenities for the city's growing southeast side. This regional destination park, drawing visitors from across the Midwest, fosters tourism and economic activity in the region.
